The late Elizabeth Gething was a member of the Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen and Families Association (SSAFA) and a great supporter of the Northwood Volunteer Band. In her memory her family gave the band a silver salver which is presented annually to a member of the band who has shown the most improvement.
The 2006 winner of the Elizabeth Gething Trophy was Mrs Penny Flanagan (Clarinet).
